Немного о миротворцах

Во время событий в Югославии его отправили туда в качестве миротворца. Он – англичанин и прибыл в составе британского контингента под командованием ООН. Там были и американцы тоже, но, в основном, по его словам, это были голландские солдаты.

It all started with Maidan.
At that time, one young man asked me why I did not support Maidan, being such a ‘revolutionary’ person. I think he got a much longer answer than he expected.
“First of all,” I said, “if the protest is financed privately then this is a fake protest. Highly suspicious indeed. This is a protest in favor of those who paid for it, and nothing more. This kind of protest does not protect any righteous principles or ideas. Typically, we protest when levels of injustice become far too intolerable, not when we are paid for it. This is not a peoples uprising.
“Second, who were the financiers? They were clans of oligarchs that are hostile to the Yanukovich clan, the EU, and U.S. This means you stood on Maidan to seize power for the one who will do what US and EU say. This is most likely another oligarch, who simply has more money. In addition, there were fascists! Did you not see the Nazi flags?”

Плакала, что не могла пройти рядом с этим смелым дедом, чтобы он знал, что не один, что нас хотя бы двое, плакала от стыда перед всеми ветеранами, потому что Украина - под сапогом фашистов, как бы они себя сейчас не называли и какой бы обувью не топтали нашу славу, достоинство, нашу дружбу и родство, плакала от ужаса и боли, потому что каждый день на моей земле кого-то убивают и не щадят ни женщин, ни детей, потому что перед глазами стоит лицо мальчика в окне Дома профсоюзов, который не знает, что скоро будет заживо сожжен вместе с матерью и братом,
